Letter of Condolence from the church in Surrey

March 12, 2020

Dear sister Wu and family, and the church in Taipei,

We are saddened to learn of the passing of our beloved brother Paul Wu early on the morning of March 5, 2020.  Brother Paul’s departure has come suddenly. We know the Lord graciously granted him extra length of life while sojourning as a pilgrim on this earth, serving Christ and the Church as a faithful and prudent steward. He tirelessly dispensed all the riches of God’s divine economy through the Ministry of the age for the building up the Body of Christ in the Lord’s recovery.

The church in Surrey has been particularly blessed with a generous portion of our brother Paul’s concern and care for us both spiritually and materially. We were much shepherded by him regarding the construction of our new meeting hall, instead of going ahead with our original plan of renovating the existing old building. Our brother Paul’s foresight has helped to accommodate the increase of saints the Lord has been adding to His church here. Brother Paul’s timely fellowship, wisdom, and encouragement benefited not only the leading brothers but also the entire church by infusing faith into us all in this matter. The 400 chairs offered by the church in Taipei constantly remind us of our dear brother Paul.

We will surely miss our brother Paul until we meet again in that day. On behalf of the church in Surrey, we extend our condolences and love to you all during this period of loss with these comforting words of our fellow soldier, the apostle Paul:

2 Timothy 4:8  Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, with which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will recompense me in that day, and not only me but also all those who have loved His appearing.

Let us all take our brother Paul as our pattern in pursuing and loving the Master who Himself is our reward.
